Cerro Chimbote 5.493 m
Our target is the first climb of the mythic Cerro Chimbote (5.493 m) the most
important unclimbed mountain in the central Andes and maybe in the whole Chile.
Many have attempted it since 1944 with no success.
We hope this time will be the beaten. To do so, we have trained climbing some
of the most difficult mountains in this Andean zone, as the south face of Cerro
Arenas (4.366 m) or a new route on the east face of Cerro Freile (4.598 m),
between others. We are extremely enthusiastic and hopefully with big chances
of success.
