DHL Everest Expedition 2011

A quick update as if it's long I think the internet may explode. It's
taken over 10 minutes just to get to write this! And at 20p per minute
it's an expensive game. All the internet signal comes from satellite
and it's no broadband!
We're now in Dingboche at 4,400metres where we're staying 3 nights to
give extra time to acclimatise. We had a rest day today so walked to a
nearby town called Periche and had a look round the clinic they have
there. Tomorrow we have a another rest day so we're going for a 5 hours
walk to another town called Chukkung where I stayed last year on the
way back from Baruntse.
We will later move on to the next town called Lobouche probably for
one night, then the next night we should be at Everest basecamp.
So far all is going well but we want to stay here an extra night as
we're in no hurry to get the basecamp. Our puja (the blessing which
asks the god's permission to climb the mountain) is taking place on the
17th, so we can't climb before then. We has a blessing from Llama Geshi
yesterday which was a very emotional experience. Llama Geshi is
probably the most famous llama in the Khumbu, and I was grateful for
his blessing.
I've been trying to make voice updates but there's lots of problems
with signal so I'm not sure if there are any! I'll keep trying and
hopefully I'll make some more updates soon!
