Amigas, amigos.

Esperamos que al momento de recibir este mensaje se encuentren muy bien. Queremos contarles que ya han pasado varios días del accidente y múltiples reuniones se han sucedido en el Campamento Base entre las diferentes expediciones, equipos de Sherpas y también con el Ministro de Turismo de Nepal.

Tras haber participado en todas estas reuniones y según nuestra experiencia, hemos decido cancelar nuestra expedición. Sabemos que el accidente afectó mucho a la comunidad Sherpa que trabaja en el Everest, por lo que en base al respeto mutuo que tenemos y tras haber conversado con nuestro equipó de Sherpas, hemos acordado con ellos cancelar nuestro ascenso.

También hemos evaluado las actuales condiciones de seguridad de la montaña, las cuales no nos parecen las más adecuadas para realizar el ascenso esté año.

En estos momentos hemos iniciado el viaje de retorno por el Valle del Solo Khumbu para llegar a Katamndú en los próximos días y desde ahí regresar a nuestros hogares.

Agradecemos infinitamente la constante preocupación que han tenido con nosotros, reflejada en los múltiples mensajes de aliento que día a día nos enviaban.

En unos pocos días más nos veremos en Santiago donde podremos compartir las aventuras vividas durante nuestra expedición al Everest.
