We are now in Pangboche for our second night, at 3950m. Today was a rest day so we trekked up about 600 vertical meters to Ama Dablam basecamp for acclimatization, then back down again before lunch. We have also had a blessing from Lama Geshe, one of the most famous lamas of the region, so that was very special. He was impressed to see I still had the card he wrote me last year.Today we had our first views of Everest as it’s been fairly cloudy the last few days. But today we had those perfect blue skies with panoramic views of stunning peaks all around. It was spectacular.Tomorrow we will trek on up to Dingboche, and the plan from there will be to go to Chukkung for two nights, then over the Kongma La, a pass at about 5500m for acclimatization. From there we end up in Lobuche then onto basecamp around the 14th April. Plans change frequently though! So far so good! There will now not be able to do a written update for at least as week as my laptop is going straight to basecamp rather than over the Kongma La. There may be a voice update if we get signal.Happy Easter!
