Dispatch #29
Published at 21:33
We put in 10 hours of driving yesterday and made it across the
northwestern portion of TX, through Oklahoma and into Fort Smith, AR.
This morning we are back at it again. It is hot & humid, but luckily
the A/C is still cranking. Not much to do when traveling like this
but to E-A-T. Since I-40 took us back through Memphis, we were able
to sample Gus’s Fried Chicken, a highlight of the Memphis Culinary
Scene that we missed on the way out west. It is actually rated #1 in
TripAdvisor out of ~900 restaurants in Memphis! The food (which is
fried chicken and more fried chicken, no salads allowed) met high
expectations.
We hope to make it to Knoxville today (another 10+ hours behind the wheel).
