Chris and I had our longest stay of the trip in San Francisco with
Blair! Our road trip came to a welcomed “standstill” as Chris jetted
back to the east coast for a bachelor party and Caroline explored San
Francisco with Blair.
In SF, the gals jumped right in by attending a wine and art event at
the SF MOMA. We topped off a culture filled evening by watching some
1920’s jazz and having delicious cocktails at a local bar. The next
morning Blair and I hopped on our bikes and began an ambitious ride
over the golden gate bridge, past Sausalito and on to Tiburon! It is
amazing how much the weather can change from one neighborhood to the
next here. It was in the 50’s when we left SF and a balmy 80 when we
arrived in Tiburon. We grabbed some much deserved lunch before
catching the ferry back to SF.
Chris returned from the east coast to join back up with the road trip
and we went straight from the airport to Pacifica beach where the
Hamilton siblings donned wet suits and tried their hand at surfing.
Caroline was the official photographer, and caught a few good shots.
The beach is known by the locals as the “taco bell beach” because
there is literally, a taco bell right on the beach.
We later attended a concert at The Grove, an outdoor amphitheater,
with Blair and Jim and enjoyed cooking a meal together that night.
Our week would not have been complete without an outing on Blair’s
sailboat. We squeezed this in by doing a “sunrise cruise” on the bay.
Despite the characteristic fog, we were greeted by friendly seals and
great views of the bridge. After 6 nights in SF, we felt relaxed and
rejuvenated. We hit the road again and headed south!
