After several nights camping in the rain, we were psyched to check in
to a B&B just north of the plaza in Santa Fe. We took “The Grizz” for
an oil change and service so she would be prepared for the impending
haul east. Santa Fe is a great town. We loved the adobe style
houses, art galleries and green chile foods. On Canyon Road, we acted
like high-dollar art collectors from NYC and tried to discern the
difference between a $75,000 landscape and a $300 version. Still have
some work to do in that department...
In the end, we did purchase a painting for our future apartment in
NYC. It is a fun piece called “Friendship” by Jennie Cooley, see
picture. The artist is a very funny lady that wears rhinestone
“artist’s glasses” for inspiration. The painting should go well in a
kitchen or eating area, and serve as a great reminder of this
adventure. You will have to come see it in person.
Plan is to book it east on I-40 and run through Raleigh, NC before
heading north.
